Sign Up For SNAP
Interested in signing up for SNAP? The Task Force is here to help!
STEP 1: Determine your SNAP eligibility.
Complete mRelief’s eligibility screener online or by texting "Food" to 74544 to complete the eligibility screener over text message.
Learn more about eligibility requirements on the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare’s website.
STEP 2: Complete the SNAP application.
If you completed mRelief’s eligibility screener, the mRelief platform will direct you to an online simplified application. You will also have the option to apply with assistance over the phone from a Task Force caseworker.
You can also find the Idaho SNAP application on the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare’s website.
STEP 3: Gather all required documents and submit your SNAP application.
Be prepared to provide the following information with your SNAP application: ID, proof of household income and resources, proof of housing costs, proof of current monthly expenses, and immigration status (if applicable).
Apply over the phone by calling 877-456-1233, in person by visiting your local Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, virtually by emailing your completed application to MyBenefits@dhw.idaho.gov, or via mail by mailing your completed application to Self-Reliance Programs, PO Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720.
STEP 4: Start receiving benefits to help pay for your groceries!
You will need to complete an interview with the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare before receiving benefits.
If you are approved for SNAP, you'll receive your EBT card. Each month that you are eligible, your card will be automatically loaded with your benefits within the first 10 days of the month.
Keep an eye out for recertification notices from the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare.
