SNAP/WIC Engagement Team

About the Team

The SNAP/WIC Engagement Team plays a crucial role in enhancing participation of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC). Originally launched as SNAP Into Action in 2013, the SNAP/WIC Engagement Team has now evolved with a mission to focus on expanding access to these vital nutrition programs.

The team acts in response to Idaho’s regulatory restrictions, which prevent the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) from conducting educational activities related to SNAP. The annual Engagement Report reflects our commitment to supporting SNAP and WIC through collaborating with partner organizations. The report highlights our combined efforts to provide education and outreach to communities across the state.

The Work of the SNAP/WIC Engagement Team

  • Create a network of leaders advocating, dispelling myths, and facilitating participation

  • Create a place to gain accurate, up to date, timely, and consistent information on SNAP and WIC

  • Provide training information to process SNAP and WIC applications

Resource Guide

The Team created a set of training modules and compiled materials (pamphlets, factsheets, etc.) to assist organizations in expanding knowledge around programs available to Idaho community members.

We are available to provide group presentations at community gathering points to provide an overview of the SNAP and WIC programs.
